The 2008 Ohio Monarchs’ Gold Team, managed by Ed Mouch and coached by Dave Harris and Joe Munoz, will also be vying for a spot in the NABF World Series.
The Gold Team will include two members from Adrian College - Jake Cappelletty and Brian Bilius. Cappelletty hit a pair of home runs and knocked in 19 runners for the Bulldogs this season, while his teammate Bilius hit .348 with 1 home run and 11 RBIs.

Another season of Ohio Monarchs baseball is about to begin, but the team still includes many of the players from last year’s championship squad.
Two new goals lie ahead for the 2008 Monarchs: establishing a strong first-year presence in the Toledo NABF college league, and performing community service projects as part of their new affiliation with the Catholic Baseball Players for Christ.

Ohio Monarchs Baseball forms team in Toledo Ohio
Toledo, OH. - The Toledo-based Ohio Trojans collegiate baseball team has joined with the Lake Erie Monarchs baseball organization to form the Ohio Monarchs baseball team. The Ohio Monarchs team will be independent of the Lake Erie Monarchs team and will play in the Tri-State League, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The league also includes teams from Cleveland, Youngstown and Columbus. Each distinct team functions independently as far as scheduling and player recruitment are concerned, but works with other league teams to maintain a high level play.
The Lake Erie Monarchs play in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, which is a non- profit corporation that strives to have a positive impact on the lives of young men, while helping them to become top caliber baseball players. The league also provides young players with exposure to Major League scouts.
