Blue Team Wins Again

Oregon, OH – Tuesday night, June 17th, the Monarchs Blue team faced off against JL Thomas of the Tri-State League. After shutting out Taylor Business in a Toledo League game Monday night, they faced some tough pitching from JL Thomas to start this game.

 

Chris Bassitt started on the mound for the Monarchs, pitching five and one-third inning, allowing JL Thomas’ only run of the game, striking out five and walking three. Phil Hettlinger came on and pitched through the end of the seventh inning. Hettlinger faced five batters, walking none and striking out three. Brad Timofeev finished the game pitching the eighth and ninth inning giving up one single and walking one.

Hitting wise Casey Kahsen, Chris Pfund, Phil Reed, Brad Timofeev, Ryan Price, Shane Pfouts, Ross Hartwig, and Cody McPherson all were on base at least once in the latter innings of the game. Most of the offense came in the bottom of the eighth inning when five runs crossed the plate. The Monarchs won by a final score of 7-1 continuing their winning ways for their 5th in a row.
