The Ohio Monarchs Blue team has played well so far this season. They have compiled a record of 16-5 about two-thirds of the way through their schedule. Local players leading the team are Brad Timofeev (Clay/Defiance), Ryan Price (Oak Harbor/BGSU), Cody McPherson (Lake/Bluffton), and Shane Pfouts (Lake/Urbana).

All the statistics are from the first 16 games of the season. Timofeev has played in 16 games, garnering 10 hits in 33 at bats with a .303 average. He has drawn 8 walks, scored 14 runs, and had 4 RBI’s. Fielding, Timofeev has done well with O errors and 15 assists in 72 innings of play. He has also pitched 7 innings in 3 games of work, walking one and giving up 7 hits.

His record is 1-0 and has a 0.00 ERA. Price has played in 15 games with 9 hits in 32 at bats, giving him a .281 average. He has also drawn 11 walks, scored 11 runs and had 5 RBI’s. Through 101 innings, Price has had 5 errors and 39 assists. McPherson has appeared in 14 games so far, gathering 5 hits in 34 at bats with a .147 average. He has collected 8 walks, scored 6 runs and batted in 3 runs. Fielding, McPherson has had 2 errors and 2 assists in 85 innings of play. He has also pitched a total of 10.67 innings through 5 games so far, giving up 5 walks and 5 hits. McPherson’s record is 1-1 with one save and has a 0.00 ERA.
Pfouts has pitched in just 4 games this season with a total of 20 innings pitched. He has given up just 3 walks and 10 hits, has a record of 4-0 with a 0.35 ERA. Pfouts has also had a team high of 18 strikeouts.

The Monarchs Gold team has also played well this season. Their record so far is 16-7 and they are about the same point in their schedule as the Blue team. Area players that are doing well to this point are Casey Winckowski (Clay/Owens), Matt Rollins (Lake/Baldwin-Wallace), and Cory Hornyak (Genoa/Youngstown St.).

The statistics for the Gold team are also through just the first 16 games. Winckowski has had 10 hits in 28 at bats to give him a .357 average. He has collected 5 walks, scored 7 runs and had 2 RBI’s. In the field he has had 5 errors and 7 assists. So far, Rollins has 7 hits in 20 at bats, giving him a .350 average. He has also walked 4 times, batted in 1 run and has scored 8 runs. Rollins has also had 4 errors and 4 assists in the field. Hornyak has 20 hits in a team high 45 at bats with a .444 average, while collecting 5 walks, scoring 15 runs and batting in 14 runs. In the field he has no errors and 4 assists. Hornyak has also pitched 11.67 innings, giving up 9 walks and 10 hits. He has a 1-1 record with 1 save, and is tied with a team high of 20 strikeouts.
